Durham University October 2024 - Present
CIS Intern Durham, UK (Hybrid)
  • Delivered a process to mitigate malware threats on Durham University's WordPress environment, reducing the amount of sites vulnerable to near zero, with no tickets regarding site takeovers in 9 months.
  • Currently working with Ellucian Banner, responding to and resolving student and staff tickets on TopDesk, editing and fixing database queries, assisting with version control migration projects.
  • Worked across 5 separate teams, gathering experience on different workflows, products, and fields, including AI training with Copilot Studio, bespoke dashboard development with PowerApps, and interacting with Tenable and TopDesk APIs to raise vulnerabilities as new tickets.
Newcastle University Computing and Technology Society August 2026 - Present
Tech Officer Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK
  • Built and maintain critical society infrastructure, currently using Proxmox to run multiple society and student owned websites, game servers, docker services (vaultwarden, starlight docs, etc...), internal networks, as well as infrastructure for events when needed.
  • Currently manage a "Tech Team" of 6 members, assign and delegate tasks as needed, such as server maintenance, configuration changes, and ensure good communication across the team.

  • Built and maintain a file hosting and pastebin service using Python with Flask, ensuring security and privacy is the highest priority when using.
  • Encrypt all data at-rest using Fernet, with physical storage locations being scattered around the world, files are not stored on the main server, ensuring data safety in the event of data theft.
